About
Hi there!
I am a communications professional with experience in just about every facet of the field.
My most recent work ranges from composing published articles about various aspects of the vehicle fleet industry for FLEETSolutions magazine, to developing email and social media campaigns to market NAFA Fleet Management Association's programs and events.
These written pieces include special features on the New York Police Department and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, short-form articles about unusual vehicles that NAFA members have in their fleets, and an interview with one of NAFA's past presidents. Sustainable fuels, vehicle data management, and combatting distracted driving were also some topics of note.
In addition, I was a contributing writer for NAFA's e-newsletter, developing short articles about chapter events, the automotive industry, legislative news pertaining to vehicle fleets, and sustainable fuels.
Additionally, I also helped to develop high-performing, specifically targeted email and direct mail marketing campaigns to help increase membership and promote NAFA's annual Institute & Expo, their professional certification program, and Fleet 101 introductory course, among other campaigns. In addition to developing compelling copy and graphics for these efforts, I was also responsible for managing a wide array of targeted mailing and suppression lists for each set of mailings.
Social media was also something I dabbled in during my time with NAFA. I was fortunate to travel with the rest of our staff to our annual conference, and was charged with scheduling posts in HootSuite and, later, Sprout Social to help promote various sessions and events during that week. Our team also helped help cover live events, record Facebook Live videos with vendors on the expo floor, post photos of networking events, and promote various sessions and giveaways using different hashtags on our social channels.
A proud graduate of Monmouth University, I served as a contributing writer for the Outlook, the university's student-run newspaper. My college internship with New Egypt Speedway allowed me to practice public relations at a grassroots level. Our team traveled to various events across Ocean County, New Jersey to speak with potential fans and promote the track's weekly races and events.
In my free time, I enjoy sports, music, reading and cooking, I also maintain a blog about NASCAR racing - a sport that I am very passionate about.
What I can do for your organization
"Bill is a high-output writer, social media executioner, and marcom tactician."
A communications colleague once used this phrase to describe my body of work. As a jack of all trades when it comes to marketing, journalism, and public relations, I have a wide assortment of tools in my belt to help build your brand and increase your following.
I pride myself on being a team player, but can also work independently and manage multiple tasks. Good enough is not good enough for me, and I will do what it takes to make sure each goal is met successfully - coming in early or staying late if need be.
Developing written content has long been a passion of mine, and I guarantee that nobody else can write as clearly, concisely, and creatively as I can.
